OMI restaurant
About This Spot
Stepping into OMI restaurant, tucked away on Rue du Progrès in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, feels like discovering a quietly vibrant corner of Brussels where the morning unfolds gently and evenings slip into relaxed conviviality. The pace here is unhurried, welcoming a mix of early risers grabbing a thoughtful breakfast and small groups winding down after a day’s exploration or work nearby. The space hums with a subtle warmth—soft chatter blending with the clink of cutlery, creating an inviting backdrop that suits both solo diners seeking comfort and friends sharing casual moments.
OMI’s atmosphere reflects its neighborhood charm: approachable, genuine, and slightly eclectic. It’s the kind of spot where tables might sway a bit under your hand, hinting at a lived-in character, and where attentive, friendly staff gently navigate the ebb and flow of the day’s crowd. The restaurant’s proximity to Brussels Nord station brings in a steady stream of local travelers and urban wanderers, each adding their own thread to the lively yet intimate ambiance.
The dining experience here feels both familiar and subtly adventurous. Plates arrive with a thoughtful balance of classic comforts and fresh creativity—whether it’s a comforting veggie breakfast, a tender medallion of veal, or a composed salad that tastes like a little celebration of the season. Drinks complement the mood quietly, from a double espresso that helps you ease into the day to mocktails that add a playful flicker of color in the late afternoon.
What stands out most is a sense of approachable care woven through everything: the way the kitchen embraces honest, satisfying flavors without pretense, and how the space encourages conversations both lively and reflective. OMI feels like a heartfelt neighborhood refuge, a place where moments are savored more than hurried, and where the simple pleasure of good food and subtle conviviality lingers long after the last bite.

We took "The Nordic" it was good, a lot of fish and pretty tasty. The place is nice and working from early morning, which is nice and other places we're close. The only thing I would suggest for owner: please change coffee brand from Lavazza to something else and provide a glass of water with coffee. The experience will be better. And check out the tables to be stable. Otherwise, everything was good and this things are not as important to set lower review. Thanks

Two American girls enjoyed the burgers and fries! They were delish! We came back a second night and had the chicken sandwich and the eggplant with Diablo sauce and they were also delish!

Great location if you're just arriving at Brussel Nord or are staying at one of the many hotels in the area. Atmosphere was also quite nice, suitable for both couples/single travellers as well as bigger group. The waiters were polite but waiting time was a bit long. Food was tasty and nicely presented, so would definitely recommend. Looking at the menu, felt most things are fried but better check for yourself. Prices are quite ok!

Overall delicious food, really good cocktails, nice staff. Not too crowded for Saturday evening. The only thing to take into consideration is sanitation. The toilet was pretty dirty. After washing my hands I was afraid to touch anything.

We were a group of 6 people and we had a nice table set up for us. The service was rapid and staff is friendly. We had the chicken burger, scampi pasta, the OMI burger. We will definitely have our next team lunch at OMI.

Small restaurant in Brussels, Belgium. The food was amazing . Staff are kind and really captivating atmosphere. 100% recommend the chocolate pancakes for kids and the maple pancakes. A little overpriced but worth it. Definitely recommended.

The quality of the food and place!!! Very nice place, good design. The waters spoke just a little english, but it's enough to order that you want. One time we ate dinner and the next day a breakfast here. I would go back again, because everything was so delicious and the quality was on the very high level.
